October arrives with the energy of movement, transformation, and hidden wisdom. Fehu reminds us that wealth and vitality are not just material but energetic. Our megin, the inner life force within all things, is meant to flow. When we cling to what feels safe or try to control outcomes, we block the natural cycle of giving and receiving. Fehu teaches us to engage with life intentionally, allowing abundance and energy to move freely. Then Thurisaz steps in, bringing challenge, pressure, or awakening. It is the thorn that draws attention to what needs care and the giant standing at the threshold of a new beginning. Thurisaz can feel intense, but like Thor’s hammer, it also gives us the strength to protect our energy and break through resistance. Each obstacle becomes an invitation to step forward with courage. Perthro invites us into the mystery. Like the well of Mimir, it holds deep wisdom beneath the surface. It reminds us that life contains elements of chance and unpredictability, and not everything can be controlled. Rather than forcing answers, Perthro calls us to trust the unfolding and recognize the hidden potential within us.
Together, these runes ask us to let energy flow and embrace the unknown with trust and openness. This month holds the potential for transformation if we allow ourselves to move with the current, step through thresholds with courage, and listen to the deep well of wisdom within.
